Lady Bull Dogs edge Bloomington North for sectional title
Mar. 4—INDIANAPOLIS — By just two-tenths of a point, Columbus North claimed the IHSAA gymnastics regional title Friday at the Gymnastics Company, hosted by Franklin Central.
The Lady Bull Dogs finished with a team-total 107.775. Bloomington North finished with 107.575 for second. Bloomington South was third (103.425) followed by New Palestine (101.300), Connersville (97.750) and New Castle (97.150).
After finishing the season at 21-9 as a team, Rushville had one regional qualifier in senior Bell Westphal.
Westphal finished 14th on the vault with a score of 8.675. She placed 11th on the bars with a score of 8.275.
On the beam, Westphal received a score of 8.575, good for 10th place. Westphal scored an 8.65 on the floor to place 22nd.
In the all-around competition, Westphal scored a 34.175 to place ninth overall.
