Relative you may remember

Brown is a cousin of Andre Davis, a second-round pick of the Browns in 2002 who played eight NFL seasons with Browns, Patriots, Bills and Texans.

Brown wasn’t a $70 million man after all

Immediately after the season, the Giants fired special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey. It was about the same time that Brown announced

Immediately after the season, the Giants fired special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey. It was about the same time that Brown announced via social media that he’d be leaving New York.

“It’s been interesting… Catch Y’all on the flip side,” he wrote.

But in 2020, the Giants painted a different picture of Brown. McGaughey told the media that Brown has the potential to eventually land a $70 million contract.

“He’s a big, strong, physical kid who has a special skill set,” McGaughey said, according to USA Today. “I think the more plays he makes, the more confident he’ll get. The game will slow down for him. Once the game starts to slow down for him, it’s already starting to slow down on special teams. … I tell him all the time, I think he has $70 million walking around inside of him. It’s up to him to tap it.”

Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, who once held that title with the Dolphins, said, “Cam stands out to me in terms of kickoff. We talk about all the time, kickoff, punt coverage, that’s really the first play of a defensive possession. The contribution there. I’ve seen him split double teams making a tackle.”

Brown is inspired by memories of the many he lost

A New York Post story discussed the many times Brown has mourned lost friends and relatives.

“Those people that passed away wouldn’t want you to just give up and quit on life just ’cause you’re sad because they passed away, I know that for a fact,” Brown said.

The list includes Peter Warren, a family friend who would take Brown to school but died of cancer; Andrew Dantzler, who drowned in a lake; and Brown's grandfather, Eugene, who had a brain aneurysm.

Brown played at Bullis High in Potomac, Maryland. The team’s quarterback in 2020 was Dwayne Haskins, who was struck and killed on a Fort Lauderdale highway in 2022.
