Get to know 2024 Oklahoma State softball team roster, schedule for OSU Cowgirls

STILLWATER — The Oklahoma State softball team heads into the season with a roster that is 87.5% full of players in their first or second year with the Cowgirls.

The team still has a veteran presence thanks to the transfer portal, but with only three returning starters, the lineup will look quite different this season.

And coach Kenny Gajewski’s high school recruiting has been strong lately, meaning that the freshman and sophomore classes will be heavy contributors as the Cowgirls chase their fifth straight Women’s College World Series appearance.

Here’s a look at the OSU roster:

Pitchers

Lexi Kilfoyl

Graduate, Land O' Lakes, Florida: After transferring from Alabama, Kilfoyl became a front-end starter for the Cowgirls last season, posting a 1.70 ERA with 130 strikeouts in 139 ⅔ innings. She will lead the pitching staff once again, and now further removed from a 2022 hip surgery, expect to see her in the batting order more frequently as well.

Ivy Rosenberry

Senior, Winchester, Virginia: Gajewski has boasted about Rosenberry’s improvement over the offseason, meaning the second-year Cowgirl — who transferred from Virginia Tech — should get plenty of work this season. She had a 2.65 ERA over 37 innings last year.

Kyra Aycock

Sophomore, Newnan, Georgia: Aycock was the No. 3 pitcher last season, posting a 2.51 ERA and a 9-2 record with 65 strikeouts in 95 innings. She’ll be heavily in the mix for innings behind Kilfoyl.

Katie Kutz

Freshman, McLean, Virginia: A newcomer, Kutz was the No. 6 overall recruit in the country thanks to her electric arm. She has a national following as a result of her successful career as a professional bodybuilder.

Kathryn Ogg

Junior, Mount Kisco, New York: Ogg has not appeared in a game in her first two years, but provides depth on the pitching staff.

Saylor Davis, Fr.

Freshman, Montgomery, Texas: The only left-hander on the pitching staff, Davis was a multi-sport athlete at The Woodlands High School.

Catchers

Caroline Wang

Senior, Paris, Tennessee: A transfer from Liberty, the strong-armed catcher has played in 206 career games and will lead the rotation behind the plate. Over the last two seasons, she’s batted .315 with 32 home runs and 104 RBIs.

Audrey Schneidmiller

Junior, Burleson, Texas: One of the few Cowgirls who has been on the team more than two years, Schneidmiller appeared in 25 games last season, batting .297, and she should be in line to split time with Wang this year.

Logan Pickelsimer

Freshman, Mustang: Pickelsimer will have time to develop behind a pair of veteran catchers, but showed consistent offensive and defensive capabilities in high school.

Infielders

Tallen Edwards

Sophomore, Moore: After starting in left field as a freshman, look for Edwards to settle in at shortstop or third base, while also hoping to improve on her offensive numbers of a .320 batting average, 15 extra-base hits and 26 RBIs.

Micaela Wark

Redshirt sophomore, Frisco, Texas: Last year’s regular starter at first base, Wark could be back there, or see some time as the designated player, but expect her bat to be in the lineup. She batted .314 with 10 home runs — the most of any returning Cowgirl — and 51 RBIs last season.

Megan Bloodworth

Junior, Cordele, Georgia: Last year’s starter at third base, Bloodworth is one of the team’s most reliable defenders, which should keep her in the lineup regularly on the left side of the infield.

Karli Godwin

Freshman, Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina: From an offensive perspective, Godwin is the most intriguing of the freshmen, coming in as the No. 8 overall recruit in the country. She could see time at first base or designated player.

Rosie Davis

Freshman, Readyville, Tennessee: Davis comes in with a chance to make an impact as a middle infielder with a bat that is becoming more reliable.

Sophie Page

Junior, Chatom, Alabama: Page saw limited action last season after transferring from Alabama-Birmingham, but could fill in around the infield as needed.

Lexi McDonald

Sophomore, Silo: She saw action in 15 games last season, driving in three runs. She should once again fill a valuable reserve role.

Outfielders

Scotland David

Senior, Ponte Vedra, Florida: The oft-injured senior has had just 20 at-bats in three seasons, but is healthy and ready to contribute. A well-rounded player, she has nine career stolen bases and was 5-for-18 at the plate with a double and a home run last season.

Katie Lott

Sophomore, Cypress, Texas: One of several players who got valuable experience as a freshman last year, Lott batted .370 over 54 at-bats with a pair of homers and 12 RBIs. She will compete for a starting outfield job.

Claire Timm

Sophomore, Buena Park, California: Like Lott, the left-handed hitting Timm saw some meaningful action as a freshman, hitting .276 with six home runs over 29 at-bats. Should be in the mix for playing time in the outfield.

Haidyn Sokoloski

Sophomore, Flower Mound, Texas: One of Gajewski’s top pinch-running options, Sokoloski appeared in 36 games last season and stole three bases in four attempts. She should be back in that role, and could see more action as a reserve outfielder as well.

Tia Warsop

Freshman, Mansfield, Texas: Originally from Northampton, England, Warsop moved to America at an early age and became a top-15 national recruit in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A speedy contact hitter, she had 81 hits in her junior season, which set a Texas state record.

Utility players

Jilyen Poullard

Senior, Moss Bluff, Louisiana: A talented player who transferred from McNeese State, Poullard has played multiple positions at the college level, but seems likely slated for a starting role in the outfield. She has a career .320 batting average with 13 home runs, 73 RBIs and 48 stolen bases over 140 career games.

Macy Graf

Sophomore, Aledo, Texas: A transfer from Mississippi State, Graf played multiple positions on the infield with the Bulldogs and batted .291 over 86 at-bats, going 6-for-7 in stolen base attempts.

Taylor Anderson, Fr.

Freshman, Dripping Springs, Texas: Anderson provides versatility, speed and a left-handed bat off the bench.
