Knicks signing former first-round pick Dylan Windler to two-way deal: reports
The Knicks have added another two-way contract to the roster, agreeing to terms with former first-round pick Dylan Windler, according to multiple reports.
By NBA rule, the Knicks can have three two-way players under contract, and the team already had their three before this signing. Nathan Knight and Trevor Keels are on one-year, two-way deals, while Jaylen Martin is on a two-year, two-way deal. The Knicks will need to release one of those players or convert one of those contracts to a full deal.
The 26-year-old was a standout player for Belmont, averaging 21.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game to help lead the Bruins to an NCAA Tournament appearance. He followed that run to the tournament by becoming a first-round pick, No, 26 overall, of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2019.
Windler hasn’t done much as a pro, averaging 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds while playing less than 12 minutes a game in his 84 career games played. A 40.6 percent three-point shooter at Belmont, Windler has shot just 32.2 percent from beyond the arc in the NBA.
