Knicks promoting Gersson Rosas to senior vice president of basketball operations: report

The Knicks have made a change in the front office.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Gersson Rosas has been promoted to senior vice president of basketball operations and will be among the team’s “elder decision-makers.”

Rosas, who previously spent time as an exec with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, and Houston Rockets, had been serving as a team consultant since February 2022.

When the Knicks parted ways with former general manager Scott Perry in May, SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley noted that Rosas could be promoted to a full-time role.

Joining Leon Rose and William “World Wide Wes” Wesley as an official member of the Knicks front office, the 45-year-old Rosas took over for Tom Thibodeau as president of the Timberwolves in 2019.

Rosas also has experience as an NBA general manager, serving in that role for the Mavericks in 2013.
