Knicks' Julius Randle earns 2022-23 All-NBA Third Team honors

Apr 15, 2023; Cleveland, Ohio, USA; New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (30) shoots beside Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dean Wade (32) in the second quarter of game one of the 2023 NBA playoffs at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Knicks forward Julius Randle was named All-NBA Third Team for the 2022-23 season on Wednesday night.

Randle is joined by De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers as this season's All-NBA Third Team.

This is Randle's second All-NBA selection. He was part of the All-NBA Second Team in the 2020-21 season.

“It’s a great honor. It’s a testament. Those things don’t happen without the group of guys we have," Randle said after the Knicks' Game 5 win on Wednesday. "It takes a belief from the front office, coaching staff and, most of all, my teammates to trust me to go out there every night to play at a high level.”

After a down season, Randle put up big numbers for the much-improved Knicks. This season, he averaged a career-high 25.1 points, 10 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. He also played 77 of the team's 82 games, with a late-season ankle injury taking away any chance of him playing in all contests this year.

He also made his second All-Star selection this season.

Randle's teammate, Jalen Brunson received 13 votes (5 second-team, 8 third-team) for a total of 23 points.
