Knicks' Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle named reserves for 2024 NBA All-Star Game

Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle have been selected as reserves for the NBA All-Star Game, which will take place in two weeks in Indiana.

Brunson was viewed by many as one of the biggest snubs among Eastern Conference starters after he finished tied with Milwaukee’s Damian Lillard, but the point guard still gets to make his first All-Star Game appearance.

The 26-year-old certainly deserves the honors with the career year he’s been putting together leading New York’s offense.

Brunson has topped the 30-point mark in six of the eight games during the Knicks’ current winning streak, and he’s averaging a stellar 32.0 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds over that span.

Entering Thursday, Brunson has produced a career-high 26.8 points, 6.5 assists, and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 48 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the arc across 46 games.

He's taken games over at times and gone on numerous scoring barrages, including his first career 50-point outing earlier this season during a road win over the Phoenix Suns, and has a pair of double-doubles.

Brunson will now get to participate in his first All-Star weekend.

Randle, on the other hand, will likely miss the festivities after he suffered a dislocated shoulder late in the fourth quarter of last weekend’s victory over the Miami Heat, which is expected to keep him sidelined for at least a few weeks.

The star power forward still earned the honors for the third time in his career, all of which have come with the Knicks.

Randle was dominating alongside Brunson before the injury, averaging 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists while producing his best shooting percentage since joining the Knicks (47 percent).
