Kentucky baseball wins SEC regular-season title for only 2nd time in program history

Kentucky baseball is the best in the SEC for only the second time ever.

The Wildcats, led by coach Nick Mingione, clinched the conference's regular-season championship Friday night with a 17-7 win over Vanderbilt at Kentucky Proud Park. The only other time UK won the league's regular-season crown was 2006.

Friday's victory was the 22nd in SEC play in 2024, extending a single-season program record. The 2006 team held the previous mark with 20 league wins.

The Wildcats, who are 39-11 overall, wrap up their series with the Commodores at noon Saturday.
