Kentucky assistant coach throws direct shade at Michigan football

Once upon a time, Michigan football was believed to be seeking Kentucky tight ends coach Vince Marrow to join the staff. However, that will never happen — and not just because the Wolverines have no openings.

Marrow, the tight ends coach and assistant head coach under Mark Stoops in Lexington, took to Twitter on Sunday to not so subtly throw shade at Jim Harbaugh and the maize and blue, and he did so with a recruiting bent. Considering Harbaugh is the only college head coach who has been in the NFL coaching rumor mill this offseason, the tweet is unmistakably about him.

‘A certain school’ — yeah, everyone knows who you’re talking about, Vince. While Harbaugh has flirted with the NFL the past two offseasons, he also rejected the Denver Broncos twice this year, having called and let them know he was staying in Ann Arbor initially, and again when ownership came to town to make their pitch again.

It’s a bad look to negatively recruit behind closed doors and it’s an even worse look to do so publicly — especially considering the two teams aren’t exactly rivals.

Michigan has played Kentucky once in school history, in 1908, and won 62-0. Perhaps it’s time for a rematch?
