Keep your eye on Texas running back Bijan Robinson this Saturday
When five-star running back Bijan Robinson signed with the Texas Longhorns, many knew that it was only a matter of time before he burst onto the scene.
During his freshman season, we saw the flashes of his greatness. It wasn’t until they faced West Virginia on Oct. 7, 2020, that he put together his first 100-yard rushing performance. On that day, Robinson accounted for 151 yards from scrimmage. He broke through against Kansas State to close out the regular season and in the bowl matchup with Colorado. He had 24 touches in those two games for a combined 443 yards and 6 touchdowns. Robinson averaged 18.5 yards per touch.
In the 2021 campaign, Robinson once again showed off what he could do with 6.4 yards per touch and 1,422 yards with 15 touchdowns. It was an injury against Kansas that prevented him from passing the 1,500-yard mark.
As we hit the midway mark of the 2022 season, Robinson is once again proving his worth. The Arizona native is climbing the ranks in the Texas Longhorns record books and he could achieve another milestone against Oklahoma State.
When playing against the Cowboys last season, Robinson accounted for 173 yards of offense and three touchdowns. Most of which came on the ground where he averaged 6.4 yards per carry. Can he improve that number this year? The Pokes are coming off a loss to TCU where the Frogs rushed for 224 yards and averaged 6.1 yards per play.
Robinson is doing plenty of damage despite who the opponents are, he is among the best in missed tackles forced (56), yards after contact (563), and yards after contact per carry (4.1).
An interesting note to watch in Texas vs Oklahoma St game this weekend. Bijan Robinson is just 69 yards from passing Malcolm Brown, Hodges Mitchell, and Eric Metcalf on the Horns' all-time rushing list. He would be No. 10 in school history.

Robinson is currently No. 13 on the Texas Longhorns’ all-time rushing list but could tie Eric Metcalf with 51 yards. Something tells me that Bijan could be in for a big game this week. Just how high can he climb before he wraps up his Texas career?
