Kawhi Leonard puts up double-double, Spurs steal one from Clippers

Kawhi Leonard put up 26 points and recorded 10 rebounds, his second double-double of the season, to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a close victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, 89-85. The Spurs picked up the victory due in large part to their efficiency handling the basketball, accumulating 20 assists and turning it over only eight times. San Antonio (3-3) gets one in the win column after losing to New Orleans on Saturday.

Leonard shot 10-18 (1-3 from three-point range) and 5-5 from the free throw line. Tim Duncan contributed 18 points and 11 rebounds for San Antonio as well. On 9-17 shooting from the field and 5-7 from the free throw line, Blake Griffin scored 23 points for Los Angeles in the loss. He also registered 10 rebounds and six assists. Chris Paul added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Coming up next, the Spurs square off with the Golden State Warriors, who are 5-1 on the year. The Clippers meet the Phoenix Suns, currently 4-3 this season.
