Kansas State ruins TCU’s undefeated season in overtime

The undefeated season vanished in overtime for TCU.

Kansas State delivered a stunning goal-line stand as the Horned Frogs had the ball first in the extra session and then kicked a field goal when it had the ball.

The Wildcats made the kick and wound up downing TCU, 31-28, on Saturday in overtime.

Before the winning kick, Kansas State had to stop TCU on two plays from inside the 1-yard line on the Horned Frogs’ possession.

Rather than having Heisman candidate QB Max Duggan try and sneak or run the ball into the end zone, Sonny Dykes called a pair of handoffs and neither one found paydirt.

And the game-winning boot.

TCU is still likely to find a home in CFP final 4. However, the dreams of a perfect season are done.

Kansas State is ticketed for a Sugar Bowl bid as the winner of the Big 12.
