Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 5 game

The Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) will head North on Sunday in hopes of coming away with a victory from the upset minded Minnesota Vikings (1-3).

After weeks of misfortunes, Minnesota was finally able to play a complete game by getting a road victory against the Carolina Panthers. Justin Jefferson was again a star, and the defense was able to pressure No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young into a great display of defensive power.

It wasn't pretty, but the Kansas City Chiefs were able to shake off what was an inconsistent night against the New York Jets in a close win. Patrick Mahomes and company recovered against a stout New York defense, and are now riding a three-game winning streak as the love story surrounding their star tight end continues.

Lorenzo Reyes: Chiefs 26, Vikings 24

The Vikings are so unreliable that I would never pick them on the moneyline here. But while Kansas City usually finds ways to win, it often needs heroic efforts to do so. The Vikings roster is better than their record indicates. They just need to — and this feels quite obvious though they continue to make the same mistakes — protect the ball. I think Minnesota covers.

Tyler Dragon: Chiefs 28, Vikings 20

The Vikings finally got a much-needed win. In come the defending Super Bowl champions just when you think Minnesota might be able to turn its season around. The Chiefs need their wide receivers to develop more if they want to defend their title. But Kansas City has enough talent to upend the Vikings.

Victoria Hernandez: Chiefs 27, Vikings 23

The Chiefs faced more adversity last week as Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions and Jawaan Taylor gave the Jets a safety. But their stout defense and Isiah Pacheco ensured a victory. Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson are flying high in yardage on the stat sheet, but in actuality aren’t quite clicking like years past.

Jordan Mendoza: Chiefs 31, Vikings 23

Kansas City's win against the Jets proved that even when they have a off night, they still are a tough team to beat. Kirk Cousins made some mistakes against the Panthers that Minnesota was able to recover from, but they'll need a clean game on the road if they want a win. Kansas City does enough to limit the big plays in another victory.
