Just two unbeatens remain in big-school high school football rankings in Bucks County area

We're down to just two area unbeatens among the big schools in the Courier Times/Intelligencer area and, fittingly, they remain atop our latest rankings as they have for most of the season.

Central Bucks West, now 9-0 after upending then-unbeaten CB South last week, and 9-0 Souderton are one and two. The Titans, despite the loss, stay at No. 3.

Things also remained the same in the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, as both Council Rock South and Quakertown rolled to wins last week.

Take a look.

1. Central Bucks West (9-0)

The Bucks, who were our preseason No. 1 and haven't budged from the top spot, further cemented their ranking with a 40-29 win over previously unbeaten Central Bucks South last week.

Central Bucks West can finish off a perfect regular season with a win over rival Central Bucks East on Friday. If so, the Bucks would clinch the Suburban One League National Conference title outright.

2. Souderton (9-0)

The Big Red rolled over Upper Dublin 31-6 to stay perfect on the season and also perfect at home for the 18th straight time (dating back to 2019).

A win over Bensalem, at home, this Friday would give Souderton the outright Suburban One League Continental Conference title.

3. Central Bucks South (8-1)

The Titans fell behind unbeaten Central Bucks West early and couldn't recover in what turned out to be a 40-29 defeat last week.

Up next, CB South finishes off its regular season at home against Pennridge on Friday.

4. Council Rock South (6-3)

The Golden Hawks snapped a two-game losing skid by blanking Bensalem 24-0 last week.

The Golden Hawks have only lost to Pennsbury, Upper Dublin and Souderton, which are a combined 19-8.

Council Rock South ends its regular season with its rivalry game against CR North on Friday.

5. Quakertown (5-4)

The Panthers notched their third straight win by blanking Harry S. Truman 49-0 last week.

They finish their regular season on Friday at home against Upper Dublin.

Others to watch: North Penn, Pennsbury.
