Junior hockey: Minot routs Wilderness

Apr. 10—Blaine Warnert scored two of his three goals in the second period as the Minot Minotauros defeated the Minnesota Wilderness 6-2 in North American Hockey League action Friday night in Cloquet.

Max Bogdanovich and Tyler Kostelecky scored Minot's first two goals before Hermantown graduate Jacob Herter scored for the Wilderness on a power play with an assist by ex-Greenway star Donte Lawson.

Warnert then scored back-to-back goals 4 minutes and 6 seconds apart to secure the win. Kostelecky netted his second goal to make it 5-1 at the end of two periods while Warnert completed his hat trick early in the third.

Josh Bohlin tacked on a power-play goal for Minnesota.

The win moved Minot 11 points clear of the Wilderness for third place in the Central Division.
