Josh Harris and Washington fans will be rooting hard for the Patriots and Saints in Week 18

The Washington Commanders currently hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft order. However, Washington hasn’t clinched the No. 2 pick and could even fall to No. 3 on Sunday if they lose to the Cowboys, as expected.

Washington, New England and Arizona are all 4-12. If all three lose on Sunday, Arizona will remain in the No. 4 position. The No. 2 pick will be decided between the Commanders and Patriots.

There are a lot of games that could impact the No. 2 overall pick.

Tankathon broke down which games will most impact the Commanders and Patriots for Week 18. The most important game of the weekend for Washington is Atlanta vs. New Orleans.

National political correspondent Steve Kornacki went in-depth on the battle between the Commanders and the Patriots.

This is a terrific breakdown. The Commanders are 13-point underdogs to the Cowboys, and it looks like they’ll be sitting multiple starters on Sunday due to injury. Meanwhile, the Patriots are 1.5-point favorites over the New York Jets in Week 18. New England won the first meeting, 15-10, and have won 15 in a row over the Jets.

The Commanders certainly hope that streak continues.

If it doesn’t, Washington really needs the Saints to defeat the Falcons. Based on how Atlanta has played recently, you like New Orleans’ chances, but this is the NFL. Things never play out as expected.

Both the Patriots/Jets and Saints/Falcons games are played at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, while Washington and Dallas play at 4:25. We’ll likely know if the Commanders will be picking No. 2 overall by the time that game begins on Sunday unless Washington somehow pulls off the shocking upset.
