Josh Downs to be ‘game time decision’ this weekend

Despite a 2-0 start this year, there are now additional questions and potential injury concerns surround Josh Downs, the UNC football standout wide receiver.

Downs injured his knee in the season-opener on a touchdown grab and while he didn’t miss any time during week 0, he didn’t play in UNC’s week 1 win over Appalachian State on Saturday.

Now, Downs is listed as a ‘game-time decision’ according to head coach Mack Brown. The Tar Heels play Georgia State on Saturday.

Downs had nine catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Florida A&M.

As one of the best wide receivers in the country, Downs is certainly a huge piece to UNC’s offense and potential success this year.

The junior wideout caught a program-record 101 balls for 1,335 yards last season.

While UNC plays Georgia State this weekend, a big-time matchup against Notre Dame is looming two weeks after.
