Jordan Spieth disqualified from Genesis Invitational Friday after signing incorrect scorecard

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Jordan Spieth has been disqualified from the Genesis Invitational for signing for an incorrect scorecard.

Spieth signed for a 3 after making a 4 on the 245-yard, par-3 fourth hole. Spieth hit his tee shot into the left rough, chipped to within 4 feet and then missed the par putt.

Spieth shot a 68 and finished 3-under after making a double bogey at 18. He was well within the cut line, which is at 1-over.

Spieth's DQ capped a busy day at the Riviera Country Club. Tiger Woods withdrew because of illness. Woods had completed six holes and teed off on No. 7 when he was taken by golf cart to the clubhouse. He was seen holding his head in his hands at least twice during the ride after feeling dizzy and becoming dehydrated.

Rob McNamara, executive vice president of TGL Enterprises, said Woods started feeling flulike symptoms Thursday night and Friday's withdrawal had nothing to do with his back or ankle. Woods dealt with back spasms during Thursday's opening round.
