For those who are a fan of the quarterback position, hopefully you tuned into the NFL draft Thursday night.

Apparently general managers couldn't pass up on selecting six signal callers within the first 12 picks.

As expected, the Chicago Bears selected USC's Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick and the Minnesota Vikings traded up and took Michigan's J.J. McCarthy with the No. 10 pick.

With a pair of NFC North rivals both adding a pair of future starting quarterbacks, Green Bay Packers fans immediately chimed in with some thoughts.

But that wasn't the main reason Love's name was being typed early and often on draft night. It was because of another quarterback that was taken with the No. 8 pick.

Michael Penix draft selection compared to Packers choosing Love

When Michael Penix was selected by the Atlanta Falcons at No. 8, the move drew immediate comparisons to when the Packers selected Love in the 2021 draft. Why? Because like Love, Penix won't be pushed to start in his first season with veteran Kirk Cousins taking the snaps in Atlanta.

And of course, somehow Aaron Rodgers always sneaks in the conversation when Love is involved.
