Johnny DelPrete, the longtime boyfriend of LPGA star Jessica Korda and former professional golfer, was arrested on Friday as part of the same human trafficking investigation in Florida that also charged New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, according to Golfweek.
DelPrete was arrested early Friday morning in South Florida on one charge of soliciting prostitution, according to the report. He was released later that day on $2,500 bond.
DelPrete competed in eight tournament on the Web.com Tour in 2012 and 2014, but made just one cut. He has been dating Korda for years, and has served as her caddie on occasion.
Korda, the 2011 LPGA Rookie of the Year, has won five times on Tour and is currently ranked No. 12 in the Rolex Rankings. She last competed at the CME Group Tour Championship in 2018, where she finished tied for 13th.
Kraft, who bought the Patriots in 1994 and is one of the most well-known owners in the NFL, was arrested and charged with two counts of soliciting prostitution on Friday. The 77-year-old has denied that he “engaged in any illegal activity.” The sweeping investigation throughout the state included at least nine other businesses and is expected to charge as many as 100 men.
