Public appearances by Joe Burrow during the NFL offseason are always a special treat for Cincinnati Bengals fans. His latest one, however, may be a little more controversial.

While at UFC 299 for the fight between Sean O'Malley and Marlon Vera in Miami Saturday night, the Bengals quarterback, along with San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Nick Bosa, were spotted greeting and briefly chatting with former President Donald Trump.

In a video posted on X, the NFL stars are seemingly having a friendly exchange with the 45th president, who seeks a second term in the White House and is well on his way to becoming the Republican nominee for a third time in the November election.

The video was posted by William Compton, a retired NFL linebacker who played for nine seasons on six different teams and now co-hosts Barstool Sports podcast "Bussin' With The Boys."

Burrow, Bosa and Trump also posed for a quick photo, which was then posted to X by Dan Scavino Jr., Trump's senior advisor and his former White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications.

Burrow's political leanings are somewhat ambiguous, but he has taken stances on abortion rights, gun control and social issues in the past.

In a 2020 article by Bengals senior writer Geoff Hobson, Burrow said, "I'm not into the whole politics thing ... I'm passionate about what I believe in. To me, that's racial inequality. Socioeconomic inequality. To me, that's not politics, its human rights. It's giving the same opportunities to people regardless of their skin color or social status."

Bosa, on the other hand, is more outspoken when it comes to his political beliefs – well, at least he used to be.

Before being drafted second overall by the 49ers in 2019, Bosa, who was teammates with Burrow for two seasons at Ohio State, came under fire for posting tweets in which he praised Trump, as well as retweeting other posts that celebrated the administration's achievements.

He also used to criticize former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, calling him a “clown" in 2016. However, Bosa has since deleted the aforementioned tweets from his account and has toned down his political opinions.

Prior to Saturday, Burrow and Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase were spotted at a game between the Lakers and Suns in Phoenix on Feb. 25. The Suns' Devin Booker and Bradley Beal greeted the Bengals' players in attendance before the game.

Burrow is currently recovering from a wrist injury that cut his 2023 season short, but the rehab process is "going really well," according to Bengals director of personnel Duke Tobin, who spoke at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis Feb. 27.

Burrow then told ESPN on March 3 that he could be cleared for full contact as early as May if all goes according to plan.

"I think middle of May is when I am expecting to kind of be cleared for full contact and everything," Burrow told ESPN. "Over the next month [to] month and a half, we'll kind of decide all those things."

The Bengals begin their offseason workout program on April 15.
