Jevon Holland calls out fan’s disrespect of former Dolphins teammate

The Miami Dolphins fanbase is a group that’s been generally split into two categories over the last couple of seasons: The supporters of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the detractors.

From there, each side of the argument branches into different subgroups, as some will blindly support the quarterback while others see may see that he has potential. The same goes for the anti-Tagovailoa group.

These discussions have been held across social media nearly every day since he was selected in the 2020 draft.

Players on the team have come to the defense of their quarterback before from fans of the team, and now they’re being forced to defend their former teammates as well.

On Monday, one Twitter user mocked former Dolphins running back Phillip Lindsay for recently joining the XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons. He used Lindsay’s status as an XFL running back to boost Tagovailoa, insinuating he had a lack of talent in 2021.

Dolphins safety Jevon Holland was quick to point out the absurdity of the user’s statement.

Lindsay played in four games for Miami in 2021, rushing for 119 yards on 3.1 yards per attempt. While he definitely struggled his last two years in the NFL, he had rushed for at least 4.3 yards per carry in his first three seasons, rushing for over 2,550 yards during that time.

These Dolphins units are pretty tight-knit, and if a player is getting called out, their teammates and former teammates are ready to swing back.
