Jets offense playing like the preseason instead of the postseason, trailing 13-3 at half

Through two quarters of play, the end of the road for the 2022 season is very much coming over the horizon for the New York Jets. The offense is non-existent and the defense seems to be having a hangover from the Lions loss on Sunday. At the half, the Jets trail the Jaguars 13-3.

Zach Wilson continues to struggle in a game where the Jets really needed him at his best. The offensive line is also getting abused and not doing Wilson and the running game any favors, as yet again, the rushing attack has been next to nothing. New York has a whopping four rushing yards. That’s not a typo. Four rushing yards. Michael Carter has three, Wilson has one, Zonovan Knight has zero.

On the flip side, the Jaguars really sucked a lot of life out of the Jets by going 96 yards on 16 plays in 8:15, culminating with a 1-yard touchdown from Trevor Lawrence…aka the quarterback the Jets were in line to get before winning two games in 2020 and dropping to No. 2 in the draft order, in case you hadn’t heard.

Let’s face it, there isn’t much to talk about. Wilson is 7/14 for 78 yards while Trevor Lawrence is 11/16 for 147 yards. It’s a mess and the Jets might as well play Chris Streveler at this point. The Zach Wilson experiment is a bust. He’s missing easy throws and isn’t seeing the blitz. He’s a mess, the Jets are a mess. Almost time to start thinking about 2023.
