'Jeopardy!' contestant trolls Aaron Rodgers on Mister Rogers clue

Apr. 6—A contestant on Monday night's edition of "Jeopardy!" took advantage of a clue on Mister Rogers to troll a different Rodgers — the game show's guest host.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers kicked off his stint as the show's host on Monday. Things were going well for him, until the show's final question.

Players were given the clue from the category Daytime TV Personalities: "Accepting a Lifetime Achievement Emmy, he said, 'Just take ... 10 seconds to think of the people who have helped you become who you are.' "

Well, the answer, as all good Pittsburghers should know, is "Who is Mister Rogers?"

However, one sly contestant took the opportunity to have a bit of fun at the guest host's expense, writing, "Who wanted to kick that field goal?"

The question is in reference to a controversial call by Packers coach Matt LaFleur to go for 3 points instead of 6 in the team's NFC Championship Game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January. The Packers lost, and Tampa Bay went on to win the Super Bowl.

Rodgers took a moment to chuckle to himself, finally responding to the jab with, "That is a great question, should be correct. But, unfortunately for this game today, that's incorrect."

One contestant penned the correct answer, winning the day's game.

Since the death of longtime host Alex Trebek in early January, the game show has been circulating through a variety of guest hosts, with the production company donating the collective winning amounts of players to a charity chosen by the host.

Rodgers' selected charity is The North Valley Community Foundation, which serves his hometown region of Northern California. It offers partnership, financial services, training and education for individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits to maximize their impact on the local and global community.

The NFL player will be hosting through April 16.
