Jaylen Brown reveals the most unexpected call he got after signing his new extension with the Boston Celtics
When you sign the richest contract in the history of the NBA, people tend to take note of it. And that is exactly what happened to star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown on signing his historic supermax contract extension with the Celtics earlier this week, the Georgia native inking a five-year, $304 million extension with a trade kicker and no player or team option.
Brown evidently had friends, family, and current and former teammates reaching out to him to congratulate him for securing a bag with generational wealth in it, including some celebrities that might surprise fans of the Cal alum.
Speaking to NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg, Brown reveals the most unexpected congratulatory call he received that day, one made by a man who started his own basketball league as a third act after a career as a rap pioneer and an actor.
