Jaylen Brown keeps details of his involvement in Kevin Durant trade talks close to the vest on media day

While it might seem like it happened in another decade, it was not that long ago that Boston Celtics star wing Jaylen Brown was seeing his name in trade rumors connecting him to disgruntled Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant.

Now, in the media’s first chance to speak to the Georgia native about those rumors, Brown shared whether he had had a chance to speak to the team about it. “Yes and no,” said Brown via MassLive’s Brian Robb. “I’ve talked to my teammates, ownership, etc. — I keep those conversations between us.”

The former Cal-Berkeley star wanted to set the record straight about where his attention was focused ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season.

“I’m here and ready to play basketball, probably the best shape of my life,” he explained.

“I’m excited to start the journey,” Brown added.
