Former Ohio University Bobcats standout guard Jason Preston signed Monday with the Memphis Grizzlies, the NBA team announced.

Terms of the deal were not announced. Preston was waived earlier this month by the Los Angeles Clippers, which traded for him during the 2021 NBA Draft after he was selected 33rd overall.

The Grizzlies' roster includes former Franklin High School standout Luke Kennard.

Preston averaged 2.9 points per game in the 14 games in which he appeared last season for the Clippers. He averaged 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game in 21 games for the Clippers' G-League affiliate in Ontario.

He didn't play during the 2021-22 season because of a foot injury.

Last November, Preston scored the first points of his NBA career with a 3-pointer in the first quarter of the Clippers' win against the Blazers in Portland.
