Jalen Brunson named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Jalen Brunson, who just matched a feat achieved by only three players in Knicks history, has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Brunson scored 45 points against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday and 42 points against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, becoming the fourth Knick ever to score 40 or more points in consecutive games.

Against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, Brunson had 20 points and nine assists.

In three games last week -- all Knicks victories -- Brunson averaged 35.7 points and 5.0 assists while shooting 54.3 percent from the floor.

Over 62 games this season, Brunson is averaging a career-best 27.5 points while playing 35.2 minutes per game.

Brunson, who was named to his first All-Star team earlier this season, is also averaging a career-best in assists (6.4).
