Jaden Springer on joining the Boston Celtics, Darryl Morey’s parting shot from 76ers
Newest Boston Celtics wing Jaden Springer can always look back on the start of his tenure in Boston to motivate him, his former GM Darryl Morey suggesting that a second round pick would be more helpful to a contending team than Springer’s play could be. If it bothered him the first time he spoke to the press as a Celtic, it didn’t show. “I ain’t really worried about that too much,” he said to the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach. “I’m here now, so I can’t really focus on that.”
“Coming to a team like this, you can’t go wrong,” he added. “Especially probably the best team in the league, a bunch of great guys, great organization, and so far I’m loving it here.”
“I feel like I can definitely help bring the energy,” offered the former Sixers wing. “I feel like defensively, I can help the team.”

“Offensively, I can fit into the system, watching the way they play,” Springer added. “It’s just really free-playing, really understanding what they’re trying to get to.”
“I feel like I can help however they need me to, so I’m pretty excited for that.”
