Jacksonville vs. Atlanta predictions: NFL experts pick a winner in Jaguars London game

What's going on with the Jacksonville Jaguars? And can a trip across the pond fix it?

The Jags are off to a 1-2 start with two straight losses at home. They're spending the next two weeks in England starting with Sunday's game against the 2-1 Atlanta Falcons.

A loss to the Kansas City Chiefs wasn't surprising, but last week's 37-17 thrashing at the hands of the Houston Texans set off some alarms. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence has thrown for just three touchdowns against two interceptions through the first three games. Travis Etienne looked better last week, picking up 138 total yards, but star receiver Calvin Ridley has totaled just five catches for 72 yards after his big debut.

The Falcons are coming to Wembley off their first loss of the season, a 20-6 defeat to the Detroit Lions. Rookie running back Bijan Robinson had his first subpar day in his short time in the NFL, running for just 33 yards on 10 carries. Quarterback Desmond Ridder threw for 201 yards and was sacked seven times with a fumble.

The Jaguars' London record is 1-3 since 2018. The Falcons have played there twice, going 1-1 and beating the Jets the last time they were there in 2021.

So who wins in London on Sunday? Here's a look at who NFL experts and reporters are predicting will win:

Lorenzo Reyes, USA TODAY: Jags 25-13

"I think Jacksonville is a nice candidate for a rebound after that disappointing loss against the Texans, considering the Jags had so many drops and self-inflicted errors that they should correct. Meanwhile, the Falcons have been a little inconsistent over the last two weeks to back with confidence."

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Jags 27-17

"The Falcons are hopeless offensively with Desmond Ridder if they can't run the ball for massive yardage. The Jaguars will contain Bijan Robinson and force Ridder to throw often to keep up with Trevor Lawrence, who will rev up former Falcon Calvin Ridley again away from the coverage of A.J. Terrell at times with big assists from Christian Kirk and Evan Engram working inside. Jacksonville tends to handle the UK well and should drive past Atlanta easily across the pond."

Kris Knox, Bleacher Report: Jags 26-20

"I'm more confident in Jacksonville's ability to stop underachieving in this matchup than in Atlanta's ability to finally get Kyle Pitts, Drake London and the passing game going. Jacksonville's defensive strength has been against the run this season (seventh in yards per carry allowed), which will create problems for Atlanta."

John Breech, CBS Sports: Jags 27-20

"For me, the pick in this game is simple: The Jaguars can stop the run and if we learned one thing about the Falcons in Week 3, it's that they have no chance of winning if you stop them from running."

Dan Parr, NFL.com: Jags 24-20

"As bad as the Jaguars' offense has looked for the last two weeks, I still trust Trevor Lawrence to make more plays than Desmond Ridder, who now has four touchdown passes on 203 career throws. Now, Atlanta could easily snatch its third victory if the Jags continue to play sloppy ball. They have been pretty good against the run, though, and if the Falcons' ground game isn't clicking, well, we saw how that scenario played out last week. I expect Jacksonville's London residency to get off to a smashing start."

'He's going to be just fine': Trevor Lawrence goes to bat for Calvin Ridley amid struggles

Bill Bender, Sporting News: Jags 31-21

"This is an interesting matchup by two teams that stumbled in Week 3. Jacksonville is 6-4 S/U at home under Doug Pederson the last two seasons. Trevor Lawrence has a balanced passing attack, and Calvin Ridley scores a TD against his former team. The Jags also rank eighth against the run (84.0 ypg.). Stick with the home team here."

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Jags 27-21

"The Jaguars were embarrassed on their home field Sunday by the Texans. They have been one of the bigger disappointments so far this season. Atlanta had problems in losing to the Lions last week on offense. The Jacksonville offense has struggled, but this is a chance to get it going. I think they will, even though they've lost the last three in London. That changes."
