Jackson State women's basketball coach Margaret Richards fills out coaching staff

Jackson State women’s basketball coach Margaret Richards announced her coaching staff on Monday.

Joining Richards will be Dylan Howard, Daniel Price, Alexus Holt and Pat Richardson.

The staff will be one of youthfulness and with SWAC playing experience as well as head coaching experience. Not one of these coaches coached on Richards' Alabama A&M staff last season.

Howard is no stranger to SWAC basketball after being an assistant coach at Mississippi Valley State and then the men’s head coach at Alabama A&M for three seasons.

Price is a Jackson, Mississippi, native, brings a defensive mindset and has a reputation for developing players. He coached at Marshall and was the women's coach at Simmons College of Kentucky from 2021-23.

Holt coached for two seasons at Copiah-Lincoln and is not too far removed from her playing days at Grambling. In 2021-22, she led Grambling in scoring at 17 points per game and 3.5 assists with 2 steals per game.  She was first-team All-SWAC and made the SWAC All-Tournament team.

MARGARET RICHARDS TO CONTINUE SUCCESS How Jackson State women's basketball coach Margaret Richards can continue Tomekia Reed's success

Pat Richardson, who coached at Quincy University, is reunited with assistant coach Dylan Howard. Richardson was a special assistant to Howard at Alabama A&M.

These hirings enable Richards to hit the ground running in recruiting for the 2024 season.
