Isaiah Thomas scores 22, Suns defeat Warriors

The Golden State Warriors handed out only 16 assists and turned it over 26 times in a sloppy outing that resulted in a 107-95 loss to the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix (4-3) picked up the win after falling to Sacramento Kings on Friday.

Isaiah Thomas came off the bench and put up 22 points on 4-13 shooting from the field (1-5 from behind the arc) and 13-14 from the free throw line. Marcus Morris also chipped in for Phoenix, finishing with 17 points and nine rebounds. Stephen Curry had a strong performance for Golden State in the loss, putting up 28 points on 10-20 shooting, including 4-10 from behind the arc. He also recorded 10 assists and five steals. Draymond Green added 22 points and nine rebounds and Harrison Barnes finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Warriors had 16 assists against 26 turnovers for a ratio of .62. This year, they are 2-1 when having more turnovers than assists in a game. Conversely, the Suns are 1-0 when holding their opponents below an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.00.

Coming up, the Suns battle the Brooklyn Nets, who are 4-2 on the season. The Warriors match up with the San Antonio Spurs, currently sitting at 3-3 this year.
