Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Bowling Green Falcons: TV, streaming broadcast info for Saturday

The Iowa Hawkeyes (7-1) return to the floor this afternoon versus the Bowling Green Falcons (5-1) inside a sold out Carver-Hawkeye Arena after a nice six-day rest.

After its championship run at the Gulf Coast Showcase, Iowa jumped back into the top five at No. 4 nationally in the latest USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll.

The Hawkeyes beat Purdue-Fort Wayne, 98-59, and Florida Gulf Coast, 100-62, before avenging their lone loss of the season against No. 18 Kansas State, 77-70.

Senior guard Caitlin Clark scored 82 points across the three tournament games, shooting 48.1% from the floor and a remarkable 51.6% from 3-point range. The West Des Moines product led the way with 32 points against the Wildcats on 10-of-25 shooting, including 7-of-16 from beyond the arc. Clark was named the Gulf Coast Showcase’s Most Valuable Player.

Fifth-year guard Molly Davis and graduate guard Kate Martin were Iowa’s other double-figure scorers against K-State, adding 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Meanwhile, Bowling Green enters after four straight wins over Xavier, Mercer, Lehigh and Duquesne. Senior guard Lexi Fleming led four Falcons in double figures with her team-high 19 points versus Duquesne.

  • Amy Velasco hit a runner at the buzzer, lifting the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team to a 68-66 victory over Duquesne University Monday night (Nov. 27).

  • The Falcons have been picked to finish fourth in the MAC in 2023-24.

  • Lexi Fleming was selected to the Preseason All-MAC Second Team for the second consecutive year. Fleming, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio (Mercy McAuley), played in 36 of the Falcons’ 38 games last season, averaging 9.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists while making 51 three-point field goals.

  • The Falcons lost four starters from a year ago, as Allison Day completed her eligibility and Elissa Brett, Nyla Hampton and Jocelyn Tate all entered the transfer portal. Additionally, Kadie Hempfling, the only player in school history with over 1,200 points, 800 rebounds and 400 assists, completed her eligibility.

  • Bowling Green had 31 wins last season, which was tied with UI and fourth nationally.
