Instant analysis: Bills demolish Titans on Monday Night Football
The Buffalo Bills dominated the Tennessee Titans 41-7 on Monday Night Football.
The game was so lopsided that most of the starters for both teams were on the bench in the fourth quarter.
Buffalo’s offense continued to overwhelm an opposing defense. QB Josh Allen threw four touchdowns in three quarters of work.
Allen, once again, worked his magic, extending plays and finding his receivers at will. Allen carved up the Titans defense, going 26-of-38 for 317 passing yards.
The biggest recipient of Allen’s big day was Stefon Diggs, who caught 12 passes for 148 yards and three touchdowns. Diggs put on a clinic against the Titans secondary, finding space with little resistance:

The Bills offense showed it would be a force right from the opening drive. Buffalo drove down the throat of Tennessee’s defense in 12 plays in just under six minutes, culminating with a stellar effort by Reggie Gilliam to get into the end zone:

Allen also spread the wealth, as Jake Kumerow, Isaiah McKenzie, Dawson Knox, Jamison Crowder, Quintin Morris, and Devin Singletary caught passes throughout the game. The unit did a great job in place of wideout Gabriel Davis, who missed the game due to an ankle injury.
One of the big concerns coming into the contest was how the Bills would handle Derrick Henry.
Well, Buffalo absolutely shut down Henry, as the 2020 All-Pro could only muster 25 rushing yards on 13 carries, good for a feeble 1.9 yards per carry.
The Bills defensive front was nothing short of remarkable, limiting anything resembling a decent run attack. Buffalo forced Henry laterally and often, did not allow the running back to gain footing moving upfield.
Buffalo cleaned up their turnover issues from the previous week, completing flipping the field multiple times. Matt Milano and Jordan Poyer each had an interception on the evening. Boogie Basham recovered a Malik Willis fumble. On top of those plays, the Bills also recovered a muffed punt on Sam Martin’s first punt of the year.
Tremaine Edmunds and Greg Rousseau registered sacks. The multiple looks that Buffalo gave to Tannehill consistently confused the veteran signal-caller, as the Bills deflected eight of Tannehill’s passes.
On top of that, the Bills registered eight tackles for loss.
Buffalo allowed only 182 total yards. They allowed a Derrick Henry rushing touchdown on the Titans opening drive. After that score, Buffalo completely shut down the Tennessee offense. The Bills would score 34 unanswered points in the blowout victory.
This start to the season is arguably the best in Bills history. All facets of the team are firing on all cylinders. The play calls from coordinators Leslie Frazier and Ken Dorsey on defense and offense, respectively, have put the team in an ideal position to continue their dominance.
Buffalo looks to continue their stellar start next week, as they travel to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday for their first AFC East matchup of the 2022 campaign.
