Injury Report: Warriors rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. out vs. Nuggets on Friday

Although there is one game in the books, the Golden State Warriors are still waiting for the debut of their first-round pick from the 2022 NBA draft.

After suffering a sprained thumb in the preseason, Patrick Baldwin Jr. didn’t record a minute in Tuesday’s home opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors will be without Baldwin Jr. again on Friday against the Denver Nuggets. According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Baldwin Jr. has been ruled out against the Nuggets due to a right thumb sprain.

Veteran forward Andre Iguodala will also remain inactive against the Nuggets. Without Iguodala and Baldwin Jr. off the bench against the Lakers, Steve Kerr still went deep into his second unit in the season opener.

Jordan Poole, Donte DiVencenzo, JaMychal Green, James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga all played double-figure minutes off the bench against the Lakers. Moses Moody and rookie Ryan Rollins also received playing time on Tuesday.

The Warriors are scheduled to tip off against the Nuggets on Friday evening at 7 p.m. PT at San Francisco’s Chase Center.
