Indianapolis Colts assemble 2023 practice squad with running back Jake Funk and add others

Now that the initial 53-man roster for the Colts is set, Indianapolis has begun the process of assembling its practice squad for the 2023-24 season.

NFL teams are allowed to have 16 players on the practice squad (German safety Marcel Dabo is part of the International Player Pathway program and is part of the 16-player total). Indianapolis can protect four players on the practice squad per week, and the Colts are also allowed to elevate two practice squad players to the active roster for games, although players may not be elevated for more than three games in the season.
