Indianapolis 500 streaming, TV: How can I watch the race, practice, qualifying?

The 107th Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Thirty-four drivers are vying for 33 spots on the starting grid, including nine previous 500 winners and four rookies. Fifteen nations are represented.

NBC is the network and Peacock is the streaming service where you can see much of the on-track action in May.

Will the Indy 500 be on local TV?

The race won't be shown live in the Indianapolis area. The local NBC affiliate will air it race evening.

How do I get Peacock?

Peacock is the streaming service run by NBC. It features original programming, next-day repeats of NBC and Bravo shows, the WWE and live sports – notably the Premier League, Sunday Night Football and MLB Sunday Leadoff. 9-11:15 a.m.: Indy 500 veterans practice

1-3 p.m.: Rookies and refreshers

3-6 p.m.: Indy 500 practice (also on SiriusXM Channel 160)

Noon-6 p.m.: Indy 500 practice (also on SiriusXM Channel 160)

Indy 500 practice on Thursday, May 18

Noon-6 p.m.: Indy 500 practice (also on SiriusXM Channel 160)

Indy 500 practice on Friday, May 19

Expect faster speeds and shorter runs as teams prepare for qualifying on Fast Friday.

6:15-7 p.m.: Qualification order draw

Indy 500 qualifying on Saturday, May 20

Drivers take four-lap, 10-mile runs on the 2.5-mile oval in hopes of positioning themselves for Sunday's pole position shootout.

8:30-9:30 a.m.: Practice with cars divided into two groups, each getting 30 minutes

11 a.m.-5:50 p.m.: Qualifying (all day on Peacock; 2:30-4:30 p.m. on NBC)

After this session, race positions 13-30 are set.

Indy 500 qualifying on Sunday, May 21

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Top 12 practice

12:30-1:30 p.m.: Last chance qualifiers practice

2-3 p.m.: Top 12 qualifying; six drivers will advance to a final round of qualifying, and positions 7-12 for the race are established

4-5 p.m.: Last chance qualifying for the 11th row, positions 31-33 (on NBC)

5:15-5:45 p.m.: Firestone Fast Six, where the first two rows will be established (on NBC)

Indy 500 practice on Monday, May 22

1-3 p.m.: Indy 500 practice (also on SiriusXM Channel 160)

Indy 500 Carb Day practice on Friday, May 26

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Indy 500 practice (also on SiriusXM Channel 160)

2:30-4 p.m.: Pit stop contest (not televised)

4-6 p.m.: Carb Day concert featuring Bryan Adams and Soul Asylum (not televised)
