Indiana University Surplus honors Bobby Knight with ‘Throwing a Chair’ sale

Bob Knight, who died Wednesday at 83, left a lasting legacy at Indiana University.

One of the former basketball coach's most memorable and talked about moments was when he threw a chair across the court in a 1985 game against Purdue. On Thursday, Indiana University Surplus Stores announced it is having a "Throwing a Chair" sale in honor of Knight.

For today and tomorrow, the store will sell all chairs for $1 each. There is a limit of 12 chairs per person or group.

"We are all very sad about the loss of the General," the store posted on Facebook. "We have celebrated Coaches legacy here at IU Surplus for many years with our annual chair sale. We will once again honor The “Generals” legacy today Thursday November 2nd and Friday November 3rd with the famous $1.00 chair sale. All chairs $1.00 only for two days. Limit 12 chairs per person or group! RIP Coach Knight. Thank you for the memories."
