Indiana high school baseball semistate player of the week

Congratulations to Nolan Jones of Covenant Christian for winning regional round player of the week. The catcher went 4-for-4 with two doubles, one triple and two RBI in Covenant's 13-1 regional championship win over Cloverdale.

Here are the top performers of the semistate round.

Caden Cornett, Center Grove

The Purdue Fort Wayne commit went the distance against Castle in the semistate championship game, allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts.

Noah Coy, Center Grove

The Cincinatti commit went 4-for-8 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored over two semistate games.

Cody DeJong, Illiana Christian

DeJong went 4-for-6 (.667) with five RBI, three runs scored and one double.

Dawson French, Penn

The sophomore went the distance against Hamilton Southeastern in the Class 4A semistate championship game. French allowed just two hits with five strikeouts in the shutout win.

Nolan Jones, Covenant Christian

The regional round player of the week has stayed red hot at the plate for Covenant. The catcher went 5-for-6 (.833) with one home run, five RBI, walked four times and stole one base over two semistate games.

Jacob Murphy, Center Grove

Murphy threw a shutout against Brownsburg, allowing just three hits and striking out four in the semistate semifinals.

James Kirk, Andrean

Kirk went 3-for-8 (.375) with three RBI, two runs scored and one home run over two semistate games.

Jose Lopez Alanis, Frankfort

The senior threw 10⅓ scoreless innings for Frankfort against Heritage in the semistate round. Lopez Alanis allowed just four hits, one walk and struck out 14.

Ethan Lund, Hamilton Southeastern

The Purdue commit allowed just one run on one hit against Penn in the Class 4A semistate championship game, striking out nine.

Nolan Moore, Covenant Christian

The junior went 4-for-8 (.500) with four doubles, six runs scored, two walks and two stolen bases over two semistate games.

Brad Nardi, Covenant Christian

The junior went 4-for-7 (.571) with three runs scored, two RBI and a double over two semistate games. On the mound, Nardi threw a complete game against Heritage Christian striking out nine.

Noah Redmond and Landon Lybarger, Heritage

The duo of Redmond and Lybarger combined for a 11 scoreless innings in Heritage's win over Frankfort. Redmond allowed three hits and struck out nine over seven innings. Lybarger earned the win allowing just one hit over four innings with four strikeouts.

Cameron Tilly, Castle

The Auburn commit allowed two earned runs on two hits with 14 strikeouts in Castle's semistate win over New Palestine.
