Silverton Mountain Sold to New Owners

Silverton Mountain is changing hands this week after it was announced that Andy Culp and Brock Strasbourger will take over the reigns of Colorado's most rugged ski hill. Social media suggests the move was good, giving ownership to two skiers with knowledge of Silverton's history and tradition. The new head honchos are only the second ownership group in Silverton's history, taking over for the Brill family that started the mountain in 2001, emphasizing big mountain skiing and ungroomed, steep terrain.

Moe brothers, founders of POWDER, enter the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame.

The U.S. Ski Hall of Fame just got a little more fun with the news that Jake and Dave Moe, the colorful founders of POWDER Magazine, will be inducted in the 2023-2024 class. The brothers started their iconic ski magazine as an experiment in 1970s Sun Valley before launching one of the most successful publications in North American skiing. Jake and Dave still roam the slopes of Sun Valley when snow starts to fly and we're sure they'll be raising a celebratory glass or three this season to commemorate the news. See you on the slopes, Captain Powder.
