ICYMI in Mets Land: Jeff McNeil's homer pushes Mets past Reds
Here's what happened in Mets Land on Friday, in case you missed it...
The Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2, on Friday for their second straight win behind Jeff McNeil's go-ahead eighth-inning home run, which broke a 1-for-18 slump to start the season.
Edwin Diaz appeared in his first save situation of the season and locked down his first save since 2022 after missing all of last year with a torn patellar tendon. Diaz and Nimmo both talked about their performances after the game.
Brandon Nimmo was held out of Friday's lineup with a tight hamstring, although he believes it is a day-to-day issue.
The Mets designated relieve Michael Tonkin for assignment in order to make room for newly acquired Julio Teheran on the roster.
Teheran spoke about what it means to signwith the Mets after spending much of his career with the rival Braes.
