Andreas Fransson's 'impossible wall' repeated.

It's been a crazy season in the Southern Hemisphere, but one of the craziest moments from this past September has just been revealed by a French team in the Argentinian Andes. The team of Vivian Bruchez, Aurelien Lardy, and Jules Socie successfully skied the death-defying Whillans-Cochrane route on September 21, marking the second descent of the harrowing hanging snowfield in its history. The late Andreas Fransson made the first descent of the 60-degree line and was considered by many as one of the greatest ski descents of all time. The French crew echoed the sentiment, saying that once is enough and that credit is due to one of the big mountain greats.

A-Basin achieves 100% renewable electricity.

As part of its ambitious plan to be completely carbon neutral by 2025, A-Basin announced this week that it now runs fully on renewable electricity. Strategic partnerships, including links with Xcel Energy and Jack's Solar Garden, made the achievement possible. From a consumer point of view, skiers won't feel much of a difference, but all snow guns, lifts, and lodges are now humming on sustainable, renewable power. Ok now!

Book your ticket. Big Diesel is on his way to the big mountains this December as a headlining DJ for Tahoe Live at Palisades Tahoe. The music festival comes to town two weeks after opening day, and now word on whether or not Shaq will be bringing his talents from the turntables to the terrain park, but a washed up ski writer can dream right?

Good Company is getting gooder.

Tom Wallisch and crew are back at it this week, dropping a massive new movie for free on the interwebs. Urban, park, Utah pow--Good Company's "Crescendo" has a flavor for just about any palette unless, of course, you were looking for that backcountry monoski segment. Maybe next year.
