Ice hockey: Anthony Cappello scores four times as Rivertown beats New Rochelle 6-2

For the second time in 24 hours, Anthony Cappello netted four goals to lift the Legends to a win.

Dylan Harrison and Alex Kranitz also scored.

Braedon Gallante and Ethan Pakola each had two assists and Jacob Miller had one assist.

Tyler Hembury and Andrew Tetro both scored for the Huguenots and Jason DeSalvo and John McCormick each had an assist.

Sam Glusker stopped 25 shots for New Rochelle.

Ryan O'Hagan had 16 saves for Rivertown, the combined Sleepy Hollow/Irvington/Leffell/Ossining/Ardsley/Dobbs Ferry squad, which, with Saturday's 8-6 win over Mount Pleasant and Sunday's win over New Rochelle, is 10-5 on the season.

Hart Nullet and Sava Makarenko both scored twice as the Herd closed out their regular season with their 12th win.

Bryan Kottman, Jonathan Graham, Jacob Gasparini and Michael D'Erasmo also scored.

Makarenko had two assists and Owen Cunningham, Wolfgang Cook, Callahan Duff, Kottman and Nullet each had one assist.

Brendan Hunter scored the Pirate goal off assists from Ryan O'Neill and Tom Cortelli.

Jack Galvin had 43 saves and Brendan Hurley had one save for Pearl River.

Ty Wingfield had 10 saves for the Herd.

The combined Brewster/Yorktown/Somers/North Salem squad is now 12-6-2.

White Plains 6, Cortlandt 3

Dan Cardozo scored five times to bring his season goal total to 86, one shy of the state single-season record, and Justin Esposito had 26 saves as the Tigers clinched their league title.

Harley Formica also scored and Mario DeMaria had an assist for 13-4-1 White Plains, which has two regular-season games left to play.

Joe Riggio scored twice and Frankie Kowal had one goal for the combined Cortlandt squad.

Jack Jimenez, Colin Cody and Riggio each had an assist.

Cortlandt keeper Aaron Hathaway had 33 saves.

Rivertown 8, Mount Pleasant 6

Anthony Cappello scored four times and Braedon Gallante and Jacob Miler both had two goals.

Alex Zinman had four assists, Alex Kranitz, Cappello and Gallante each had two assists and Steven Strassler and Miller both had one assist.

Aidan Schutt, Thomas Schutt, Noah Whitney, Dan Kauber, Joey Engelman and Louis Sdao scored for the IceCats.

Aidan Schutt had three assists, Thomas Schutt and Whitney both had two assists and Javier Wurster had one assist.

Mount Pleasant goalie John Sarfaty had 38 saves.

Ryan O'Hagan had 14 saves and Elle Schanzer had 12 saves for Rivertown.

Scotty MacDonald and Walter Oestreicher both scored twice and Dylan Rogers stopped 21 shots.

Ilan Laurence scored the Greeley goal off an assist from Gabe Adams.

Ben Madden had a big game in net for the Quakers, recording 46 saves.

Jack Galvin recorded a 14-save shutout and Ryan McKenna, who had a goal and an assist, was one of five players to score for the Pirates, who put 64 shots on the Nyack/Tappan Zee net.

Liam Reddy, Sean Miller, Ryan O'Neil and Brendan Hunter also scored.

Dylan Stapleton had two assists and Jack Arseneau, Doug Sampath and Colin McNulty each had one assist.

Matt Barnard was tested time and again and made 58 saves and Ezra Olds Campanile had one save for Nyack/Tappan Zee.

The Westchester/Putnam East Green Wave, one of two all-girls teams in Section 1, fell to the Section 3 Lakers in the girls state regionals as Rachel Cain scored twice and Belle Wells stopped 16 Wave shots.

Lizzy Sachar, Scout Oudemool and Rebecca Cain also scored for Skaneateles.

Lilly Marquardt and Sachar both had two assists and Oudemood had one assist.

Pelham's Victoria Tesoro and John Jay-Cross River's Peyton Wierl scored for the Wave.

Kathryn Lonergan of Westlake had an assist.

Ardsley's Sienna Kay had four saves.
