Hutto quarterback Will Hammond earns player of the week honors for Central Texas — again

Will Hammond, QB, Hutto: For the second straight week, the Hippos senior gets the nod. In a game for the ages, he passed for 719 yards — the third-highest single game total in Texas high school history — and four touchdowns in an 82-80 loss to Liberty Hill. He also rushed for 88 yards and six more touchdowns. His two-game stats: 1,129 yards passing, 10 TDs.

Ben Carter, FB, Liberty Hill: The Panthers senior rushed for 388 yards and four touchdowns in the victory over Hutto.
Keilan Chavies, WR, Hutto: The sophomore caught seven passes for 243 yards and four touchdowns in the loss to Liberty Hill.
Miles Coleman, WR, Vandegrift: The senior had eight catches for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the victory over Cedar Park.
Chance Parker, QB, Thrall: The junior passed for 309 yards, rushed for 214 yards and combined for eight TDs in a 56-42 victory over Johnson City.
Jayson Zardavets, QB/DB, Manor: The Mustang senior passed for 333 yards and a touchdown and intercepted a pass in the victory over Cornerstone Christian.
Other Central Texas standouts: Vandegrift QB Deuce Adams threw for 304 yards and four TDs in a 41-17 win over Cedar Park. ... Weiss QB Jax Brown passed for 241 yards and four TDs in a 44-19 win over LBJ. ... Rouse RB Justin Cannon rushed for 162 yards and caught a TD pass in a 42-21 win over Anderson. .... Glenn RB DJ Dugar rushed for 253 yards and four TDs in a 52-17 victory over Victoria West. ... Vista Ridge WR/DB Josaan Gaines rushed for 65 yards and a TD, returned a kickoff 70 yards and intercepted a pass in a 28-17 victory over Georgetown. ... Hutto WR Alex Green had 15 receptions for 275 yards and scored a TD in the loss to Liberty Hill. ... Westlake OL Tyler Knape was credited with eight dominations, five knockdowns and seven pins and did not allow a sack in the victory over Judson. ...
