Huge 2024 five-star taking an official visit to Michigan football

The month of June is going to be nuts for Michigan football with top-end talent taking official visits to Ann Arbor.

The top-ranked 2024 recruiting class continues to buzz and Michigan is sitting pretty with plenty of four-star and five-star talent. The Wolverines have one five-star currently committed to them in 2024, which is quarterback Jadyn Davis.

Michigan already has five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo taking an official visit on June 9. On Thursday, that weekend go much bigger for the Wolverines.

According to Adam Gorney with Rivals, 2024 five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott will also be headed to Ann Arbor on June 9 for an official visit. Scott locked in four official visits for the month of June which consists of Georgia, Michigan, Miami, and Ohio State.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, the Chicago (Illinois) St. Ignatius product is the 13th-ranked prospect in 2024, the third-ranked defensive lineman in the nation, and the top-ranked recruit from Illinois. Entering his senior year of high school, Scott has the size to compete Day 1 in college standing 6-foot-4 and 310-pounds.

Allen Trieu with 247Sports gives his scouting report on the five-star.

Has prototypical size and athletic ability for the position. Bends well, gets off the ball quickly and can beat blockers with initial quickness. Closes to the ball with speed as well. For a taller interior defensive lineman, he generally does a good job with pad level and his flexibility helps with that. Not often challenged in high school with offensive linemen with similar size and talent. Will have to show he can disengage from Power Five level offensive linemen. Has great upside though and actually could play high-level offensive line if he wanted to also, but projects as a defensive tackle that can play for any school and in any scheme in the country.

Scott currently has two different Crystal Ball projections. One of them has him going to Miami and the other to Notre Dame.

Here are some of the names that will be joining Scott on the June 9 weekend to Michigan: five-star WR Ryan Wingo, four-star RB and Michigan commit Jordan Marshall, four-star OT Bennet Warren, four-star edge Elias Rudolph, four-star CB Ondre Evans, four-star edge Dominic Nicols, among others.
