Huff-N-Puffers senior softball season starts May 29 at Brookside Park

The Ashland Fast-pitch Chapter of the Huff-N-Puffers Senior Softball Organization is set to begin its 17th season of play Wednesday, May 29, at Brookside Park. Doubleheader games begin after Memorial Day and are played every Wednesday through Labor Day.

Division II plays at 4:45 p.m. and Division I (most competitive) follows at 6:40 p.m. Players must be 60 years of age or older. One qualifies as long as the 60th birthday falls within the 2024 calendar year.

Division II players are the battery of pitchers Rick Goss, Gary Marshall, Jim House and Don McCracken and catchers Jeff Pryor, Kent Snyder and Chris Bahr. Infielders are Barry Pringle, Tom Stupi, Gary Aukerman, Vern Vore, Ed Berichon (rookie), John Maiken, Erv Howard and Bob Young. Outfielders are House, Bill Shilling, Tom Tyree, Jeff Vaughn, Wayne Bloodhart, Lorin Martin, Ron Motil, Dan Smart, Shelia Repp and Dave Vanhouten.

Division I players are the battery of pitchers Kevin Repp, Jeff Smith, McCracken and Marshall and catchers Ron Davidson, Bob Halblaub and Bahr (rookie). Infielders are Terry Chronister, Don Stump, Bill Hudson, G.L. Shedron, Bob Andress, Randy Myers, Jeff Haldeman and Shane Queer. Outfielders are Jeff Drushel, Wayne Mullet, Mitch Metzger, Ed Yetzer, Brad Helenthal, Bahr, Dan Wright, Dan Chronister, McCracken and Marshall.

Pressbox operator will be Janet House. Scorebook keeper will be Donna Rae Maiken with Vanessa Hudson substituting.
