FRIDAY

Boys Basketball

Riverdale 74, Moore Haven 31: Konnor Vonhagen erupted for 23 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals in the Raiders' win over the Terriers. Destin Bess finished with 14 points, while Jamar Underwood added 11 points and two steals.

North Fort Myers 52, Oasis 51: Javarius Jackson tallied 19 points in the Sharks' loss, and Austin Louzao knocked down five three-pointers.

Girls Basketball

Lehigh 59, East Lee 30: Rianne Smith had 16 points in the win, while Faith Plummer added 14 points.

Cypress Lake 33, Dunbar 29: The Panthers improved to 6-0 on the year behind Lily Witz' 16 points.

St John Neumann 72, Lemon Bay 59: Another big-time double doubel from Sophia McCartney (28 points and 20 rebounds) pushed the Celtics past Lemon Bay. Sydney Martin added 21 points, and Ava Martin finished with 11 points.

Girls Soccer

Seacrest 4, LaBelle 1: Kennedy Barnaby netted two goals for the Stingrays, while Ella Malone and Gabriella Vitelli added one goal each. Brooke Shefsky, Annie Smith, and Malone had one assist each.

Canterbury 7, First Baptist 1: Alyssa LoGuercio and Mia Accola both had two goals and one assist for the Cougars. Alex Tartaglia also had two goals, while Mackenzie Molina finished with one goal and one assist. Briannah Calello, Kali Young, and Taiya Arrigo all added assists to the winning effort.

THURSDAY

Boys Basketball

Cape Coral 76, Canterbury 36: The Seahawks improved to 4-1 on the year behind Judah Daley's 15 points, six rebounds, and five steals. Austin Arringdale-Klen added 13 points and seven rebounds, and Mac Rubicco talled 12 points. Joe Silva nearly notched a triple-double, finishing with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and seven steals.

Barron Collier 73, Naples 66: Nathan Ayers led the Cougars with 15 points, and Gabe Markhart added 14 points to the winning effort. Charlie Ricketts scored 25 points in the Golden Eagles' loss.

Oasis 51, St. John Neumann 50: Javarius Jackson led the Sharks to a road win with his 13 points and eight rebounds. Llyod Baptiste added nine points, eight assists, and four rebounds and Austin Louza went 4-of-6 from behind the arc for his 12 points.

Riverdale 72, Bonita Springs 30: Jamar Underwood dropped 20 points in the Raiders' win. Destin Bess finished with 13 points, and Rayshaun Linder added 11 points.

Imagine School 56, Evangelical Christian 36: TJ Ehindero and Melvin McKay scored nine points each in the Sentinels' loss.

Girls Basketball

St. John Neumann 56, First Baptist 28: Sophia McCartney notched another double-double, this time with 18 points and 19 rebounds as the Celtics improved to 7-0 on the year. Sydney Martin also finished with 18 points, and Mylee Van de Wouw added 11 points. Ava Martin-Gonzales tacked on seven points and strong defense to the winning effort.

Barron Collier 37, Naples 29: Peyton Hefflefinger led all scorers with 16 points for the Cougars.

Bishop Verot 49, Ida Baker 40: Cameron O'Halloran led the Vikings past the Bulldogs with her team-high 15 points. Josee Fry added nine points.

Bonita Springs 43, Oasis 3

Boys Soccer

Barron Collier 3, Naples 1: The Cougars defeated the Golden Eagles to stay unbeaten thanks to two goals from Emerson LaOrden and another from Alex Bulai-Tudor.

Palmetto Ridge 1, Immokalee 1: Yago Jaszchuk scored for the Bears, and Anthony Nino saved a penalty in goal.

Mariner 2, LaBelle 0: Christian Zapata and Justin Mesero scored one goal each as the Tritons improved to 8-2-0 on the year.

Fort Myers 5, St. John Neumann 0: Gabe Vera led the Green Wave with two goals.  Donovan Perez, Enzo Elias, and Angel Padila rounded out the scoring with one goal each.

Evangelical Christian 8, Gateway Charter 0: Charles Beutler tallied three goals for the Sentinels, while Nico Fleming notched two goals. Braydon Olson had one goal and one assist. Talon Magner and Davidson Voltaire finished with one goal each. Aron Enke had two assists, while Ryan Petito and Pedro Alves had one assist each.

Girls Soccer

Cypress Lake 8, Lehigh 0: Meredith Moldawsky finished the win with six goals and one assist. Kiera Desmond and Athena Yurjevich had one goal and one assist each, while Ava Gadus and Rory Farrel added two assists each.

Cape Coral 3, Estero 0: Cameron Fallacara netted one goal and one assist in the win, while Sophia Vianest and Angelina Toro had one goal each. Payton Jones tallied 10 saves in the shutout.

Lakewood Ranch 3, North Fort Myers 2: Gigi Gerke and Sophia Kerns scored one goal each in the loss.

Evangelical Christian 8, Gateway Charter 0: Alexa Bereczki finished with three goals and two assists, while Carly McKay and Mia McDaniel had one goal and one assist each. Theresa Loucks, Emma Blackwell, and Jackie Ortiz tacked one one goal each, and Emerson McCloud dished out two assists.

WEDNESDAY

Lee County Volleyball All-Star Game

Two Estero Wildcats helped lead the South to victory in the 6th annual Lee County Volleyball game Wednesday night at the South Fort Myers gym.

The opening matches pitted the South against the East and the North against the West.

The North rolled past the West 25-15 and 25-23 to make it to the finals while the South had a tough two-set match going 25-23 and 25-21 against the East.

Wildcat seniors Sophie Perkins and Gia Rosencrans powered the South to a 25-12 opening set win in the finals thanks in large part to an eight-point run largely behind Perkins' serve.

With Perkins and Rosencrans getting a lot of rest the North snapped back in the second set winning 25-15,

The play of Bishop Verot’s Ella Portu’ at the net and the serving of Verot teammate Marissa Peck spurred the North to the second set win.

Perkins led the South in the final set with powerful serves and great play at the net to close the contest out the contest 15 to 9.

“We were just having fun, this was the best, last indoor game I could have had,” said a tearful Perkins.

Portu echoed Perkins' sentiments, “It means to world to me to play with these girls one last time, it’s great,” said Portu.

The consolation match was scrappy with the West taking the opening match 25-15 over the East before the East took control winning the next two sets 25-19 and 15-9.

Oasis 8, The Village School 0: The Sharks got two goals and one assist from Mario Acosta, while Caden Bly added one goal and two assists. James Griffin and Nicholas Odar finished with one goal and one assist, while Carlos Martinez, Tyler Llerena, and Matthew Zea had one goal each. Lucas Pruett posted a shutout at keeper.

Barron Collier coach Mike Hamburg became the first Collier County girls basketball coach to reach 500 wins with a 37-32 win over Lely on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Mike Hamburg wins game No. 500: The Cougars made history for coach Mike Hamburg as their win 37-32 win over Lely marked the 500th of his career. The longtime Barron Collier mentor, who took over the program in 2000 having never been a head varsity coach, is the first Collier County girls basketball coach to reach the milestone.

Hamburg also became the first Southwest Florida coach to win a state high school basketball title in 2006 and the Cougars won another title in 2008. Barron Collier has won 20 district titles over Hamburg's first 23 seasons as well as five regional championships and two state runner-up finishes.

Against Lely, Peyton Heffelfinger led the way with a game-high 22 points, including five 3-pointers.

Gulf Coast 66, Naples 31: The Sharks (5-1) were hot from outside, hitting eight 3-pointers. Lilly Fultz led the scoring with 22 points. Sophia Pasquarello, Kali Cleary and Alex McDonough all scored nine points.

Lehigh 50, Cape Coral 36: Faith Plummer led the Lightning with 21 and Rianne Smith scored 18.

Cypress Lake 53, Bonita Springs 25: The Panthers improved to 5-0 led by Kylie Anderson with 16 points and Bri Madore with 14 points. Nessiah Wallace also put up eight points and had nine offensive rebounds and four blocks.

Bishop Verot 54, Gateway Charter 39: Cameron O’Halloran led the Vikings (5-0) with 17 points, and Brynn Stambaugh added 12.

Lehigh 50, Cape Coral 18: Faith Plummer dropped 21 points in the Lightning win, while Rianne Smith added 18 points.

Boys Basketball

Oasis 58, Island Coast 45: Javarius Jackson led the Sharks past the Gators with 12 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Brendan Overbaugh added 16 points and seven rebounds, while Lloyd Baptiste finished with nine points and two steals after drawing three charges. Zach Louzao tacked on 10 points, nine rebounds, and two steals in the winning effort.

Naples 78, Gulf Coast 74: Jaden Wolner dropped 28 points for the Golden Eagles, continuing a strong start to the year. Charlie Ricketts finished with 21 points, and Adrian Llamo added 15 points. Daniel Riverasoto led the Sharks with 23 points.

Cape Coral 70, Evangelical Christian 55: Cape Coral forced 28 turnovers from ECS as Judah Daley tallied 18 points and six steals in the Seahawks' win, while Elijah Felix added 15 points and five steals. Austin Arringdale had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Maddox Howerton had eight points, 12 rebounds, and drew three charges in the win. TJ Ehindero led the Sentinels with 18 points, while Logan McClaran added 17 points on 60 percent shooting with four rebounds and six steals.

Community School 72, Seacrest 66: George Childs' double-double led the Seahawks past Seacrest, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Dom Hoge added 16 points and three assists, while Brennan Ringhofer added 15 points and seven assists in the win. Ben Cassano scored 20 points through three quarters in the Stingrays' loss, while Isaac Leon added 15 points.

SFCA 54, Village School 42: Jake Trottier finished with 19 points in the win, while KJ Patton-Roark added 17 points.

Mariner 79, Riverdale 62: Jamar Underwood had 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals for the Raiders and teammate Konnor Vonhagen had 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Boys Soccer

Naples 3, Gulf Coast 0: The Golden Eagles received goals from Josh Sandoval and two from Cason Shepard. Djouby Montinord and Dylan Parra added assists. Naples is now 8-0-1.

Mariner 2, Riverdale 0: Justin Corbalan and Justin Medero scored in the Tritons' win that improved their record to 7-0-2 on the year.

Canterbury 2, Oasis 1: Mario Acosta scored the Sharks' lone goal in the loss.

Gateway 1, Dunbar 1: Brandon Toscano scored on a penalty and keeper Tanner Ricks saved a penalty to preserve a draw for the Eagles.

East Lee County 0, SFCA 0

Girls Soccer

Evangelical Christian 3, Charlotte 2: Carly McKay scored two goals including the game-winner. Brooke Foss had a goal and an assist. Taylor Foss and Madisyn Litwak added assists.

Mariner 9, Riverdale 1: Ryleigh Acosta scored 2 goals with 3 assists, Stephanie Saracione and Ariana Cintron had 2 goals and an assist, while Carly Paz, Alesiah Hill, and Kamila Pena (1 assist) also scored goals.

Bishop Verot 8, First Baptist 0: Katie Pelkofski had 3 goals and 2 assists, Caroline Pelkofski had 2 goals and 2 assists, while Lea Scotti, Jillian Haataja, and Alyvia Mueller had a goal apiece.

Fort Myers 7, Estero 1: Giana D'Altrui netted four goals for the Greenies, adding an assist in the win.

Aubrey Rogers 8, Immokalee 0: The Patriots improved to 6-1-1 after recording their fifth shutout of the year. Kendall Persich and Sheli Bershadski each scored a brace and Delaney Lefebvre, Tynsley Sujevich, Olivia Gelardi and Paisley Hicks scored a goal each. Kennedy Chaffee, Allie Torres, Sofia Castle and Lefebvre assisted goals.

Oasis 0, Canterbury 0: Angelina Acevedo-Montalvo tallied 11 saves in the draw for the Sharks.

SFCA 3, East Lee 1: Raychel Nassef led SFCA with two goals, while Angelica Giardetti added one goal. Grace Coggins added an assist.

SFCA 67, Mason Classical 53: Jake Trottier led the King's with 19 points, while Patrick Riley added 17 points and KJ Patton-Roark finished with 11 points.

Girls Basketball

Cypress Lake 48, SFCA 34: Kylie Anderson scored a team-high 14 points for the Panthers. Nessiah Wallace added 12 points, while Bri Madore and Brigitte Maillakakis added nine points each.

St. John Neumann 51, Donahue Academy 12: Sydney Martin tallied 16 points in the Celtics' win. Sophia McCartney added 15 points and 11 rebounds to the dominant effort.

Gateway 5, Lehigh 1: Brandon Toscano netted two goals for the Eagles, while Ryan Thompson, Santiago Facio and Tanner Ricks added one goal each.

Girls Soccer

Evangelical Christian 7, SFCA 0: Taylor Foss led the Sentinels with four goals and two assists, while Emma Blackwell added one goal and one assist. Alexa Bereczki and Brooke Foss tacked on one goal each. Emerson McCloud, Mia McDaniel, Chloe Chandler, and Theresa Loucks all had one assist each.
