Hornell basketball star is Advantage Federal Credit Union's Boys Sports Athlete of the Week

With over 19,000 votes, Gennaro Picco is the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Boys Sports Athlete of the Week.

Hornell's star basketball player became the program's all-time leading scorer during an 81-38 win over Pavilion. Picco scored 18 points in the win, but only needed three points to surpass Hornell's previous career standard of 1,375.

During the winter season, the polls launch on Mondays at democratandchronicle.com to determine the Athlete of the Week from the previous week's top performances.
