Home runs and hat tricks: Jackson area TSSAA spring sports top performers for Week 7

The TSSAA spring sports regular season is beginning to wind down.

Jackson area athletes are out showing their skills in the shortest season of the school year.

Here are the Jackson area top performers for Week 7.

TUESDAY

Soccer

MADISON 7, TCA 0: Jossemar Marcos scored a hat trick and an assist for the Mustangs. Jack Young had a goal and an assist in the win.

USJ 5, SOUTH GIBSON 1: Ryan Hutchison scored two goals and tacked on an assist for the Bruins. Anderson Preston and Christian Melton each tallied a goal and an assist in the win. Nate Hite made four saves for USJ.

Baseball

MILAN 12, PEABODY 2: Braidan Gonzales had three RBIs while Rye Maxwell had two hits, two RBIs and two runs for the Bulldogs.

SCOTTS HILL 6, ADAMSVILLE 3: Parker Grant hit a three-run home run and picked up the three-inning save with four strikeouts. Isaac Howard hit a three-run home run for the Cardinals.

BRADFORD 12, MIDDLETON 0 (5 INNINGS): Blane Fisher collected four RBIs for the Red Devils in the win and had two doubles.

SOUTH SIDE 4, CHESTER COUNTY 3: Trent Stewart collected two RBIs and had a double in the Hawks' victory.

CLARKSBURG 15, HUMBOLDT 4 (5 INNINGS): Graydon Hall collected a hit and a RBI and scored four times. Will Waugh knocked around two hits for Clarksburg and drove in two runs in the win.

DRESDEN 17, LAKE COUNTY (4 INNINGS): Cameron Schlicht hit a two-run home run for the Lions and totaled three RBIs on two hits. Reese Bell added two RBIs for the Lions.

DYER COUNTY 17, OBION COUNTY 0 (3 INNINGS): Kole Fenton hit a three-run home run and drove in a total of five runs on three hits. Jon David Binkley also had three hits, driving in two runners for Dyer County, which scored 13 runs in the second inning.

SOUTH GIBSON 9, DYERSBURG 4: Gage Nesbitt had two triples and drove in two runs for the Hornets. Thomas Baker had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs in the win. Will Fowlkes had a two-run double for the Trojans.

SOUTH FULTON 15, GLEASON 5 (5 INNINGS): Braden Gore had four RBIs on two hits, including a double, for the Red Devils. Charles Michael Mulcahy had two RBIs with two doubles.

UNION CITY 14, GREENFIELD 1: Luke Joslin had three RBIs on two hits, including a two-run double in the third for the Golden Tornadoes. Skylar Hall added two RBIs for Union City.

HARDIN COUNTY 6, McNAIRY CENTRAL 2: Duke Samples had two RBIs on two hits and got the complete game victory on the mound. Cohen Tuten added two hits for HC.

WESTVIEW 12, BRUCETON 0 (5 INNINGS): Nolan Pritchett, Brett McGuffin and Tyler Belew each drove in two runs for the Chargers. Jack Hays Allen had nine strikeouts in a complete game victory.

JACKSON CHRISTIAN 11, FAYETTE ACADEMY 0 (5 INNINGS): Easton Jones had three hits and three RBIs, including a two-run home run in the second inning, to lead the Eagle offense. Carter Ellis struck out nine batters in a complete game victory.

LEXINGTON 14, NORTH SIDE 0 (6 INNINGS): Grant Patterson drove in four runs on two hits for the Tigers. Owen Foster struck out eight in a one-hit complete game shutout.

MADISON 9, RIVERSIDE 8: Dylan Stranak had two hits and two RBIs for the Mustangs, who won the game on a two-run walkoff error. Nico Udovich had a hit and two RBIs in the win. Camden Eason had three RBIs for the Panthers on two hits, including a triple.

RIPLEY 6, GIBSON COUNTY 1: Josh Hearn struck out 10 batters in the win for the Tigers. Carlus Johnson knocked around two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.

McKENZIE 17, McEWEN 1: Tate Surber hit a home run for the Rebels as part of a two-hit, four-RBI game and picked up the win on the mound with four strikeouts.

Softball

GORDY MOONEY THROWS PERFECT GAME: Lexington freshman Gordy Mooney threw a five-inning perfect game, including 10 strikeouts, in the Tigers’ 14-0 win over North Side — the first of a doubleheader with the other game coming against USJ.

JACKSON CHRISTIAN 7, TCA 1: Bailey Robinson struck out 12 Lions in a complete game shutout for the Eagles. Carley Holt added two doubles and a RBI in the win.

BOLIVAR 19, FAYETTE WARE 7 (5 INNINGS): Haley Burns drove in five runs on three hits for the Tigers, including two doubles. Aubrey Wells added a three-run inside-the-park home run for Bolivar while Marissa Overton had four hits, including three doubles, and three RBIs.

HUNTINGDON 9, CAMDEN 1: Natalie Kreuziger struck out 14 batters for the Fillies in a complete game shutout. Karter Moore went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Fillies while Josie Sanders went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

BRADFORD 8, CLARKSBURG 5: Hannah Bailey and Abby Glisson each drove in two runs for the Red Devils, Glisson had a triple as well. Libby Autry had two RBIs on two hits, including a double, for the Rockets.

WESTVIEW 3, CROCKETT COUNTY 0 (5 INNINGS): McCall Sims drove in two runs on three hits, including a home run and a double. In the circle, she had 14 strikeouts for the Chargers. Alexis Evans added a home run for Westview.

DRESDEN 14, GLEASON 0 (5 INNINGS): Eva Stafford threw a five-inning no-hitter for the Lions and struck out 11 batters. Allie Spaulding had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs in the win. Kaylee Jared and Paisley Pittman each had three RBIs.

SOUTH GIBSON 3, DYER COUNTY 0 (6 INNINGS): Sydney Scott had two hits and a RBI for the Hornets while Annie Whittemore had a hit and RBI.

GIBSON COUNTY 9, PEABODY 6: Emily Porter had two RBIs on two hits for the Pioneers while Chloe Allmon drove in two runs with a double. Maya Turner added two doubles and a RBI for the Pioneers. Macie Rowan and Skylar Smith both had a two-run double for the Golden Tide.

BRUCETON 8, MILAN 1 (6 INNINGS): Mykenzie Burton and Keely Williams each had two RBIs for the Tigers while Williams added two hits. Addison Hampton struck out nine in the complete game win. The game was called in the sixth due to weather.

HARDIN COUNTY 3, McNAIRY CENTRAL 0: Miley Samples struck out 10 in a complete game effort for the Tigers while Sienna Rainey knocked around three hits for the Tigers in the win.

LEXINGTON 6, USJ 5: Belle Powers knocked around two hits and drove in two runs for the Tigers. Shay Hollingsworth had two RBIs with a double. Haylen Ayers had two RBIs for USJ while Maddie Polk had three hits and two RBIs. Emerson Fair struck out 11 Tigers in a losing effort.

OBION COUNTY 4, HALLS 0: Audum Neblett racked up 12 strikeouts for the Rebels in the win. Alayna Fussell had two RBIs in the victory.

RIVERSIDE 5, SCOTTS HILL 2: Lauren Ruehl struck out nine batters in a complete game win. Kylie Frost and Lynlee Walls each had two hits and two RBIs.

SOUTH FULTON 13, GREENFIELD 1 (4 INNINGS): Maddie Gray drove in seven runs with three hits, falling a home run short of the cycle. Caroline Barclay struck out nine in a complete game for the Red Devils.

SOUTH SIDE 6, CHESTER COUNTY 0: Kristan Holder had three hits, including two doubles, and RBI for the Hawks in the win while picking up the victory in the circle, allowing two hits and striking out two.

UNION CITY 15, LAKE COUNTY 0 (4 INNINGS): Clare Atwill had four RBIs with one hit while Caitlyn Hoffman had three RBIs and Marlee Theobald had three hits, including a double and a triple. Mattie Smith struck out seven in a four-inning no-hitter.

MONDAY

Soccer

USJ 9, TIPTON-ROSEMARK 0: Ryan Hutchison scored a hat trick for the Bruins in the lopsided victory. Deuce Davenport, Will King and Christian Melton each added two goals apiece. Nicholas Donelli made four saves in the shutout victory.

JACKSON CHRISTIAN 3, AUGUSTINE 2: Hudson Little scored two goals in the Eagles' victory. Elijah DeMoss added a goal, as well.

Softball

WESTVIEW 3, GIBSON COUNTY 0: McCall Sims struck out 17 batters in a complete game effort without issuing a walk to lead the Chargers. Sims also hit a solo home run in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fifth inning for three RBIs on two hits.

JACKSON CHRISTIAN 17, FAYETTE ACADEMY 2 (3 INNINGS): Bailey Robinson hit a two-run home run as part of a three-hit, five-RBI night while adding a triple and four runs scored to lead the Eagles. Robinson also picked up the win in the circle, striking out four in a run-rule victory.

SCOTTS HILL 10, ADAMSVILLE 0 (6 INNINGS): Gracie Wooley led the Lions with two hits and three RBIs, including a double. Karlee Flowers added three RBIs for the Lions, as well.

TCA 15, BOLIVAR 5 (5 INNINGS): Jenna Joyce collected three hits, including a double, and a RBI for the Lions. Haley Lewis drove in three runs with two hits and struck out seven batters in three innings of work. Isabella Lax hit a three-run home run as part of a two-hit, three-RBI game for the Tigers.

CROCKETT COUNTY 17, COVINGTON 1 (5 INNINGS): Lynden Cole hit two home runs for the Cavaliers, including a grand slam in the second inning and a three-run home run in the third.

DRESDEN 21, GREENFIELD 0 (4 INNINGS): Allie Spaulding knocked around three hits for the Lions and collected four RBIs in the lopsided victory. Eva Stafford and Mollie Oliver had three RBIs apiece.

ARLINGTON 5, DYER COUNTY 2: Maddie Claire Wilkerson had five strikeouts in a four-inning relief appearance for Dyer County. Rylee Kee and Katie Beth Caldwell each drove in a run.

BRUCETON 12, McKENZIE 1 (5 INNINGS): Anna Kee hit a two-run triple in the first inning as part of a three-RBI night for the Tigers. Madison Holder had four hits for the Tigers and two RBIs while racking up nine strikeouts in the win.

SOUTH FULTON 12, LAKE COUNTY 2 (5 INNINGS): Maddie Gray hit a three-run double for the Red Devils in the second inning and collected a total of five RBIs in the victory while racking up five strikeouts in three innings of no-hit ball.

CHESTER COUNTY 8, LEXINGTON 3: Shay Hollingsworth had two hits for the Tigers.

MIDDLETON 2, BRADFORD 1: Brianna Smith had two hits, including a double, for the Tigers and had a RBI in the win. Caitley Mott struck out six in a two-hit complete game.

OBION COUNTY 3, UNION CITY 1: Brea Martin struck out 10 batters in a two-hit complete game for the Rebels. Alayna Fussell had two hits in the win while Ava Puckett had a RBI double for Obion County.

MILAN 7, PEABODY 2: Camryn Greene racked up eight strikeouts in a complete game win for the Bulldogs while Ashley Williamson scored twice.

RIPLEY 16, HALLS 0 (5 INNINGS): Kierianna Beard knocked around three hits with a RBI while scoring twice for Ripley. Jaycee Prather collected three RBIs with three hits.

RIVERSIDE 7, PERRY COUNTY 4: Lauren Ruehl had three-run home run in the fifth inning for the Panthers while Jayla Davenport had two hits, including a triple, and a RBI. Ruehl started the game, was replaced, and entered back into the game in the circle. She had six strikeouts across five innings and picked up the save.

SOUTH SIDE 20, NORTH SIDE 1 (3 INNINGS): Aubrey Massengill drove in two runs with two extra base hits (a double and a triple) and scored twice for the Hawks, who scored 17 runs in the third inning. Caitln Cox had three hits and three RBIs in the win while Stephanie Johnson had three RBIs with a double.

ST. BENEDICT-AUBURNDALE 8, USJ 3: Haylen Ayers hit a two-run home run in the sixth for the Bruins. Abby Brown hit a solo home run in the fourth.

Baseball

JACKSON CHRISTIAN'S AUSTIN KELLEY THROWS NO-HITTER: Jackson Christian's Austin Kelley threw the Eagles' first no-hitter since 2019 in a 10-0 win over Fayette Academy. He struck out 11 batters in the five-inning win. Zach Creasey had four RBIs in the win.

ADAMSVILLE SWEEPS LIBERTY IN DOUBLEHEADER: Keelan Surratt struck out 13 batters to lead the Cardinals in an 18-0 win in Monday's doubleheader opener, he also added two hits and a RBI. In the nightcap, Adamsville won 19-3, and Reed Harmon had four RBIs and three hits, including a double. Ashton Duke compiled three hits in the two games.

BRADFORD 12, MIDDLETON 2 (6 INNINGS): Ethan Richardson drove in three RBIs on two hits, including a double, while Hatcher Mercer drove out a two-run home run for the Red Devils. Blane Fisher struck out 13 batters in a five-inning start and did not allow a hit.

CHESTER COUNTY 11, SOUTH SIDE 1 (5 INNINGS): Dean Estes collected four RBIs on two hits for the Eagles, who scored 10 runs in the fifth inning. Estes also picked up the win on the mound with five strikeouts. Brooks Johnson and Jayce Goff each had two RBIs in the win.

CLARKSBURG 19, HUMBOLDT 8 (5 INNINGS): Will Waugh drove in five runs on two doubles for the Rockets, who scored 13 runs in the fourth inning. Graydon Hall drove in four runs for the Rockets, including a two-run double. Kavien Taylor hit a two-run triple for the Vikings.

DRESDEN 18, LAKE COUNTY 1 (3 INNINGS): Will Kibbler hit a three-run home run for the Lions in the win, Dresden scored 12 runs in the second inning. Reese Bell had two hits and a RBI. Luke Di Pietro struck out four in the three-inning win.

DYER COUNTY 14, OBION COUNTY 1 (6 INNINGS): Kole Fenton had four RBIs on four hits, including two doubles and a triple, in the victory. Talon Messer hit a three-run home run in the first inning. Trey Tarkington struck out five battes in four innings.

GIBSON COUNTY 4, RIPLEY 0: Cole Lannom struck out 11 batters in six innings for the Pioneers and added two hits, including a triple. Logan White had two RBIs on two hits, including a double.

SOUTH FULTON 7, GLEASON 1: Brady McFarland led the Red Devils with two RBIs on a hit while Charles Michael McClachy had a hit and RBI while racking up seven strikeouts in a complete game effort. Aiden Legens had a triple for the Bulldogs.

GREENFIELD 6, UNION CITY 3: Will Edwards struck out 10 batters across 6 2/3 innings to lead the Jackets to a win. Caden Sparkman had a two-run single for the Jacket offense. Troy Joslin had two hits for the Golden Tornadoes.

McNAIRY CENTRAL 2, HARDIN COUNTY 1: Maddox Duncan drew a bases-loaded walk for the Bobcats in the seventh to score the go-ahead run, bringing Kendall Kiestler. Duncan added a hit in the win. Stryder Jones struck out nine batters for the Tigers in a complete game effort and added a triple. Ryder Harville hit a solo home run for the Tigers' only run of the game.

MILAN 17, PEABODY 6 (6 INNINGS): Colin Milligan knocked around four hits, including a triple, adding a RBI and scoring four times for the Bulldogs. Will Johnson (3-0) picked up the win with six strikeouts in five innings of work. Rye Maxwell went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs. Cary Burke hit a two-run home run as part of a three-hit, five-RBI night.

RIVERSIDE 7, MADISON 4: Aiden Creasey struck out 13 batters in a complete game effort for the Panthers while Cody Brasher hit a two-run home run for the in the win and had a RBI double. Cole Yarboro and Peyton Kirk each had two RBIs, Yarboro added a triple. Dylan Stranak had two hits and a RBI for the Mustangs while Carter Noble had two RBIs.

SOUTH GIBSON 22, DYERSBURG 1 (6 INNINGS): Tommy Baker hit a grand slam in the fourth inning for the Hornets as part of a three-hit, five RBI night. Gage Nesbitt had four RBIs in the win while Jack Bradberry and Brock Beasley each had three RBIs. Cade Allen struck out nine batters in six innings.

TCA 1, TIPTON-ROSEMARK 0: Owen Atwood scored the lone run of the game on a RBI single from Andrew Perry for the Lions. Perry picked up the win on the mound with five strikeouts in five innings.

USJ 10, HAYWOOD 0 (5 INNINGS): Clenon Hardin hit a three-run home run for the Bruins and Noah Britt added a two-run home run. Nash Kilburn struck out eight batters in three innings of one-hit ball.

HALLS 10, WEST CARROLL 3: Nolen Grant had three hits for the War Eagles in the loss while Jose Martinez and Drake O'Bryan each had two hits.

BRUCETON SWEEPS HOUSTON COUNTY: Brayden Maness had a total of four hits and three RBIs for the Red Devils in a doubleheader sweep (7-0 and 8-3). In the nightcap, Maness struck out six in 3 1/3 innings to claim the win. Preston Howell totaled three RBIs in the doubleheader. In the opener, James Noe struck out nine in a five-inning complete game.
