Holy Trinity's Natalie Doig tops 2023 All-Space Coast Girls swimming

Natalie Doig, All-Space Coast Girls Swimmer of the Year

During the 2023 FHSAA swimming season, Holy Trinity's Natalie Doig put on strong performances that led to her claiming some of the top times in the county in her events.

The junior consistently raced good times in both the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle this season. Doig is named the 2023 FLORIDA TODAY All-Space Coast Girls Swimmer of the Year.

At the district 5-1A meet she swept first place in two events after swimming a time of 1:58.48 in the 100 butterfly and 1:54.22 in the 200 freestyle.

At the Region 2-1A meet, Doig place second in 200 freestyle (1:51.90) and in the 100 butterfly (56.90). At the Class 3A state meet, she swam a time of 56.69 to win eighth place in the 100 butterfly and 1:52.62 in the 200 freestyle to finished 11th.

Here is the full 2023 All-Space Girls Swimming team:

Abby Clayton, Junior, Cocoa Beach: CCC champion in 200 IM (2:12.94) and 100 backstroke (1:00.37). Placed second in the 100 backstroke at the Region 2-1A meet (59.23). Finished second in 200 IM with a time of 2:18.29 and first in 100 backstroke (1:03.32) at District 5-1A meet. Placed 10th in the 100 backstroke at the 1A state meet.

Sadie Dempz, Junior, Viera: The diver placed first at the District 10-3A meet and the Region 4-3A meet. Dempz earned third place at the Class 3A state meet.

Natalie Doig, Junior, Holy Trinity: Placed first in 100 butterfly (58.48) and 200 freestyle (1:54.22) at District 5-1A meet. Earned second place in 200 freestyle at the Region 2-1A meet with a time of 1:51.90 and also finished second in the 100 butterfly (56.90). Swam on district winning 200 free relay team. Earned eighth place in 100 butterfly (56.69) and 11th in 200 freestyle (1:52.62) at Class 1A state meet.

Autumn Flach, Senior, Heritage: Won first place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.23 at the CCC meet. Finished first in 100 breaststroke (1:08.93) and 200 IM (2:20.75) at District 10-3A meet. Placed fourth in 200 IM with a time of 2:19.99 and fifth in 100 breaststroke (1:08.72) at Region 4-3A meet.

Avery Ford, Junior, Rockledge: Placed first in 200 freestyle (2:00.17) at CCC championship meet. Swam a time of 2:06.62 to place first in 200 freestyle at District 6-2A meet and finished second in 500 freestyle (5:41.18). Placed second in 500 freestyle (5:24.63) at region meet. Swam on seventh place 200 freestyle relay and sixth place 400 freestyle relay at 2A state meet.

Nicole McMullan, Senior, Eau Gallie: Claimed first place in 100 freestyle at CCC championship meet with a time of 54.43. Placed second in 50 freestyle at District 6-2A meet with a time of 26.05 and in 100 freestyle with a time of 56.78. Finished third in 50 freestyle (24.81) at the Region 2-2A meet. Earned fifth place in 50 freestyle with a time of 24.66 at Class 2A state meet.

Nicole Riopelle, Junior, West Shore: Placed first in the 50 freestyle at CCC meet (24.53), District 5-1A (25.45), and Region 2-1A (24.42). Earned third place in 100 butterfly at district meet with a time of 59.95 and placed first in 100 butterfly at CCC championship meet (59.14). Placed 13th in both the 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle at Class 1A meet.

Elena Rollen, Sophomore, Rockledge: Placed first in 500 freestyle with a time of 5:14.44 at CCC meet. Earned first place at District 6-2A meet in 100 freestyle (55.68), 200 IM (2:20.94), and swam on winning 400 freestyle relay team. Placed first in 200 IM with a time of 2:13.69 and third in 100 free (53.92) at the Region 2-2A meet. Finished eighth in 200 IM (2:13.85) and 100 freestyle (53.82) at Class 2A state meet.
